The OXEN name was birthed from the words of Jesus when he said “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me…” - Matthew 11:29.
OXEN are a symbol of strength and power. They are known to be 'the beast of labor.' They are used to plow through hard soil, roots, and rocks, all to make fertile ground for seeds to be planted, watered, and eventually harvested. OXEN are not in the fields to accomplish their own mission, or vision. They work hard only to accomplish the mission of their master.
When a master first receives a new calf, he doesn't immediately throw a yoke on it and put it out in the field to do work. There is a process that OXEN must go through first... keep scrolling
The first thing a master does when he gets a new OXEN is to put a brand on it. That brand is simply a symbol to identify who the OXEN belongs to.
OXEN Apparel represents that brand. It's not a fashion statement, it's not a movement, it's not a trend. It is simply symbol of who we belong to, and who we work for.
After OXEN are branded, a ring is placed through the most sensitive part of the animals body... the nose.
For the rest of that OXEN's life, he will spend time with the master. The master feeds him, brushes him, and speaks closely in his ear. The OXEN begins learning his masters voice and his commands. When the master yells "yah!", the OXEN learns to walk forward. When the master yells "whoa!", the OXEN learns to stop.
However, OXEN are often stubborn during the training process, but the master is loving, gracious, and patient. When his OXEN go off track, the master will gently lead them back with the slightest tug of that nose ring.
Over time, OXEN become so familiar with the voice of their master, that if a stranger were to come and yell out the same voice commands, OXEN will not budge... because OXEN only listen to the voice of the master.
After OXEN are branded to identify who they belong to, then trained to listen and obey the voice of the master, only then are they ready to enter into the field to work, and accomplish the mission of their master.
Our masters mission was made clear:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that our master has commanded us…” - Matthew 28:19-20
We live in a day and age where the need for the Gospel is greater than ever. It is our prayer that God would raise up OXEN that will have the courage, passion, and wisdom to enter his harvest field.
“...the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” - Matthew 9:37
